I made Shepherd’s Pie and the kids commented that it reminded them of a 5-layer dip I make (beans, guac, salsa etc for eating with tortilla chips). The Shepherd’s Pie (another Mollie Katzen recipe) had an egg plant mixture topped with mashed potatoes, cheese and paprika. With the layers, the kids equated it to the dip. Son named this “Ye Olde 5 layer dip.” Thought this was cute.
