Waste

When I go to Costco, I try to make one meal a week easier on me and buy a ready-to-cook pizza. I come home and heat the oven while I’m unloading groceries from Farmers Market, Costco, and Vons. Ten minutes later, bam, lunch is ready to go.

Today as I’m transferring the pizza from the box into the oven, it falls to the ground. Many of the toppings were on the floor but it was salvageable. I started picking up the buffalo cheese and tomato slices to rinse off while fending off the dog from eating food off the floor. The pizza had fallen face-up and was more or less still on the cardboard.

Then I pick up the cardboard and pizza to transfer to the counter but then the pizza flips off the cardboard to land face-down on the floor. Although the floor had just been vacuumed, there was no way it was edible at that point. I let the dog have her way with the toppings. There were two areas of splattered mess to clean up. At least Son hugged me.

No pizza today.
