This book would not have been a personal choice. I don’t lean toward inspirational stories and ones with the word “heaven” used in the title. A work book club was the impetus and the kicker is that I then had to miss the book discussion in the end.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom, follows what happens in heaven after the protagonist dies when saving a girl from being crushed. The idea is that he meets people who impacted his life and people whose life he had impacted. I think we were supposed to be left with the idea that all works out in the end even if we didn’t understand the “big picture” while we’re alive.
It was a passable book, I can say that I read it.
