Another death. I know it happens. People age, get sick, have accidents. With Donna Summer, the Disco Queen passing, it’s another reminder that we are not 16 anymore.
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I liked disco. When I was a teen, I played Donna Summer’s Live and More LP repeatedly. I sang along, I danced, I fantasized about being a grown up. I even had the Bad Girls Album and thoroughly enjoyed that. This was my youth, my energy, my excitement.
Disco subsided, Ms. Summer went christian and we parted ways.
I can listen to her songs now and feel 14 again. That’s the power of music. She will always be part of my musical memory.
