Son emailed me during finals
When I was younger my favorite type of ice cream was rocky road. However, to me, the chocolate that the marshmallows and nuts were in didn’t taste like normal chocolate (of course it wouldn’t it’s ice cream not chocolate). I noticed this and reconciled it by assuming that the marshmallow flavoring was sort of leaking into the chocolate, but only now do I realize that it wasn’t. Basically, the result is that all chocolate ice cream tastes like it has marshmallows in it. I am very okay with this.”
As we get older, we revisit our childhood and see things through different eyes. I look forward to hearing more revelations over the years.
