Prague

Thursday, June 27

After the train dropped us in Prague, we were discouraged by the 15 minute wait for an Uber, so we opted to walk the 20 minutes to our hotel which was 50m from the Charles Bridge. I was already tired so when we had to walk another 20 minutes for dinner, wait 10 minutes for a table that never materialized, and another 10 minutes to find a restaurant that served pig knee, I was ravenous. The meal did not disappoint.

I researched the best places to photograph the Charles Bridge and walked 15 minutes to the Franz Kafka museum where we captured the last light on the bridge, watched a mama and baby nutria, and waited for the lights to illuminate the structure. Lovely time.

The upside to our hotel was the proximity to the bridge, but the downside was that it was noisy until 5:30am. I dragged us onto the bridge at 6am to get bridge pix sans hordes of tourists. We took an excellent walking tour where we learned history and how to appreciate the atomic clock. On the way to the train station, we were disappointed to find that the Kafka head kinetic sculpture was out of commission.

I was very tired as we started the 4+ hour train ride to Vienna.
