A Stephanie Plum Between the Numbers story by Janet Evanovich – an audio-book from the libary. I had a patch of weeding to do and this 3+ hour recording was the afternoon solution to an otherwise quiet and boring weeding session.
The story is very compact, with some familiar characters and some new ones to set up the current dilemma to be solved. There was a point when I could see the story formula and I asked myself, do I really want to finish this? I took a breath and said, “I’m weeding, just go for the ride.”
An injured stolen horse then stolen from the thief, a stolen bag of money, gambling in atlantic city, lies to family members, a grandmother as hostage, a shoot out, throw in a medicated/delusional mobster, a handsome collegue and happiness comes to all in the end.
Sometimes one needs a little cotton candy in life.
