Although it was supposed to be spring, the weather did not agree. The cold, gray, wind, and rain wore me down into a fine depression. An upside was that there were a couple days that weren’t face-biting cold and I did go out once without a jacket.
Townhall Side Quests
Northcote Town Hall – City of Darebin 9/2
This was a functioning town hall and arts center. There was a bar inside for the events!
Hawthorn Town Hall – City of Boroondara 9/16
Now an arts center focusing on local artists.
Moorabbin Town Hall – City of Kingston 9/21/26
It’s an arts center now. Had a great organ and the organist was practicing. She plays during the citizenship ceremonies.
Port Melbourne Town Hall – City of Port Phillip 9/28.
Not a functioning townhall but there is a nice library and toy library there. The second pic is a baptismal font used in the late 1800s.
Photography
We only had one session this month due to school holiday. We focused on grand staircases.
Things I did
- Saw Aaron Chen at the Palais. He was in Fisk and his father painted him and the painting was featured in the Archibald Prize that we saw earlier this year.
- Saw Jimmy Rees in Frankston. He is a comedian that I found during lockdown – he’d make fun of countries and AU states.
- Went to an acrobatic performance with students from the National Institute of Circus Arts
- Went to a Fringe Festival comedy event: The Resume Gapnt
- Saw cygnets at Albert Park. So cute! There were many ducklings too.
- Traveled to Banksia Park to see the cherry blossoms. There were more people than blossoms 🙂
- Went to Warrandyte River Reserve to look for platypus. I’d seen recent pix of platypus there so I thought we’d take the change. No luck though.
- Tried a new fruit, a rose apple. It was more like a pear than an apple.
