Jell-o

Pudding and jello are not common foods in my kitchen. I can’t extract a good explanation. Maybe because it’s instant food, processed food, empty calorie food? I ate it as a kid with little trauma associated to it.

I had to buy soft foods for Daughter for her wisdom teeth removal recovery program so pudding and jello were on the menu. Jello held much fascination for Son. He dipped his spoon in to watch it touch the bottom of the bowl. He jiggled it and watched it. I cocked my head inquisitively at his behavior. As if in reply, he said “hey, I don’t get jello very often, don’t judge me.” Daughter then slurped rudely at her jello and almost choked, then repeating her brother said “hey, I don’t get jello very often, don’t judge me.” We all laughed.

Such foreign food substance that my kids don’t quite know how to interact with or eat!
