When I picked up my end of the year CSA share, I felt a little lost. Libby, the check-in gal asked “so what are you going to cook until February 9?” I gazed over the fields thinking “can’t I just wander through the fields every week and pick what ever I can find?”
Food is a central in life. When you get a share, you have to know what to do with it. I am proud that I can cook anything that I’m given in my weekly share and that my family will then actually eat it. Time, energy, interest. That’s what it takes. OK, recipes and a little talent help as well.
This year was about how to cook the food, how to be creative, how to do new recipes.
Daughter mused how many meals I had ever make for the family. I can’t imagine.
