87. Convenience Store: Write about an experience you’ve had at a gas station or convenience store.
When I was a girl, my mom would send me to 7-11 to buy Kool cigarettes for her. Legally, the ubiquitous convenience store would not be allowed to sell a pre-teen a package of cigarettes, so how did I get this amazing privilege? We had lived in the same neighborhood since before I was born, all the clerks knew my family, plus my mom wrote a note just in case there was someone new behind the counter. There were other kids that were sent to the store for beer too. It was the 1970s and life was just like that.
