84. Fanciest Pen: Get out your favorite pen, pencils, or even colored markers and write using them!
Fanciest Brush
While living abroad, I didn’t bring any colored pencils or markers and the pen I have is an ad for Evolutions Medical and Day Spa. I did bring a new set of acrylic paints and brushes that Daughter and her partner gifted me at Christmas. I have never used acrylics since I have shied away from traditional art expression, preferring digital art or the occasional dabbling with chalk.
Being nervous about trying the paints, I’ve watched intro to acrylic painting videos on YouTube. I wandered a museum for inspiration, noticing that anything can be considered art. I kept a take-out container to use as a paint palette. Before I began, I thought it important to know the clean up process e.g. did I need anything other than water to clean up? With the knowledge and relief that I only needed water to clean up along with the warning about not leaving paint to dry on the brush, I nervously opened the tubes of paint. The paint choices were all pastels with cute names like Strawbeary, Derp, Pickle, and Waffle Cone.
I am unable to draw or paint anything that looks like something specific but I’m ok with adding color and shapes to a page. This was an exploration of how the colors looked out of the tube vs mixed with other colors, of how the brushes held the paint an say on the page. I only have a journal to paint in which is fine, it will just mean all my paintings will have ledger lines underneath.
