65. Telephone: Write about a phone call you recently received.
Divorce sucks regardless of who initiated the divorce, whether it’s amicable or uncontested. A GF is in the middle of the divorce and I’ve been a sounding board and support for her from the start. She has a zoom court date and was unsure of the process, so we discussed possible paths that the court hearing could go down. I encouraged her to have a friend in the room with her off camera so there could be a second pair of ears on what is said. I know that in a high stress situation, sometimes there’s too much information to catch and it’s easy to get confused or flustered. I wanted her to have a support system in place to help ground her and serve as a backup to be able to review the outcome. Not a fun phone call but important. I’m glad I’m not the one getting divorced. Bleh.
