57. Alarm Clock: Write about waking up.
The topic of Alarm Clock is relevant to me this week. My wrist watch band broke and I’m struggling with how to solve a variety of problems this creates. At home, I rely on my large-number alarm clock to inform me that it’s near 3am when I should take my medication. While traveling or living abroad, I use my light-up wrist watch for this task.
Ideally, I would buy a replacement watch but it’s not as easy as I thought. I don’t want a watch that I have to charge since I don’t know if I’ll have electricity and I don’t want to carry yet another charger. I have 4 criteria for a watch: it tells time, it lights up, it’s water-resistant, and it has numbers large enough that I can read it without my glasses on. I don’t want to have to put glasses on to figure out if it’s 3am. Watches in Melbourne are either smart watches or cheap and not water-resistant. I can order on Amazon but nothing gets delivered to an Airbnb.
I can buy an alarm clock to solve the 3am issue but there is a dearth of outlets in any Airbnb bedroom and if there is an outlet, it’s behind the bed and unreachable. Plus there is rarely a side table to put the alarm clock on. I’m not sure how I’ll resolve this puzzle.
