348. Night Owl: Write about staying up late at night.
At the age of 10, my sleep problems began. I would lie in bed and listen to my parents watching TV and hear theme music to shows like the Sunday Mystery Movies (Colombo, McMillan and Wife, McCloud) and the alternating pattern of dialog and commercials throughout the night. When the send off music for Johnny Carson began, I knew the TV would cease and my parents would go to bed. Then the silence began for the extended, dreaded blackness of night. I did not want to be awake nor had I signed up for this night owl business. I much have preferred to have been sleeping.
