2023 Writer's Challenge /

347. Classic Rock: Pick a classic rock love ballad and rewrite it into a story or poem with a similar theme.

I had to google “rock love ballads” because this isn’t a genre I’m interested in. Results included

  • “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. 
  • “I’ll Stand by You” by the Pretenders
  • “Friday I’m in Love” by the Cure

I have to concede that the Cure song is one that does resonate with me since it is the only love song I ever connected with DH. He had gone to the Cure concert where it was played before we became a couple and for me it carried a happy connecting feeling to it. My feelings for it now are more bittersweet but I still sing it at the top of my lungs.
