332. Records: Go through your file box and pull out old receipts or records…write something inspired by what you find!
When my son was young, he wanted to get a dog but he was allergic to them so we looked into getting a hypoallergenic dog like a labradoodle. I wasn’t excited about getting a particular breed because there are so many dogs in shelters but a poodle or labradoodle wasn’t going to be found in a shelter. We found a breeder in Tehachapi and waited for a litter to be born. When the dogs were ready to be adopted, we drove 3 miles in each direction to pick our new puppy. I made my kids read “Dogs for Dummies” before we started the adventure and one of the suggestions was to have a list of names, call each of them to the dog and see which one it responded to. The kids made a list in the car. When we arrived, we sat in a pen with the two female dogs available and played with them for a long time. We chose the one that was the most friendly and happily brought her home. The breeder gave us a folder with information about our new family member and I just found that folder:

Our dog lived 13 years and 11 months to the day and although she wasn’t always a good dog, she was our family and we loved her.
