I am going to be traveling to central Africa: Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi and would like a referral to the travel clinic to discuss getting a yellow fever shot. With my autoimmune disorder, I am not sure if a yellow fever shot is contraindicated since it contains a live vaccine. I have read that I should not have it but I am anxious about going into a region where a mosquito bite can result in a very painful illness. I read the symptoms of yellow fever and I would prefer to avoid it. A referral to a travel medicine expert will help me decide the best course in this trip preparation.
