317. Airplane: Write about meeting someone on an airplane and a conversation you might have.
Flying from Kenya to Tanzania, one our third leg traveling from South Africa to Tanzania, I was seated to a late-30’s Kenyan man who said was traveling for business. I generally don’t talk to people on a plane but he wouldn’t allow me to disengage. He bragged about the two high-end vehicles and talked about his various kids from just as many baby-mamas. He had purchased duty-free alcohol, but had opened the beer and was drinking it on the flight. I knew this was against regulations but I was not going to point this out. At the end of the flight, the attendant scolded him but apparently she didn’t want to cause any problems with him either because he was allowed to continue with his open container. He played dumb, saying that it was his alcohol so he could drink it if he wanted.
