No poem, sorry.
My favorite new idiom is “spill the tea.” This is the gen-z equivalent of “spill the beans” that I first heard on Tiktok. Apparently, this idiom originated in the LGBT and African American communities where tea=T=truth. So, if you want to gossip, you are spilling the tea and if you are having a tea party, you are sitting around with friends gossiping about someone or something. If you are spilling the tea on yourself, you are sharing a secret. This idiom feels more catty, seductive, or engaging than “spilling the beans” and I rather like it. I don’t know if I’ve ever used it in my own conversations, but in my mind I have!
