289. Imperfection: Create a poem that highlights the beauty in being flawed.

In high school, I learned that a face is not symmetrical and that if each side is mirrored on itself, then the two new composites look like cousins rather than siblings. I think it was an art assignment where you take a photo of a face looking straight ahead, cut the photo in half, and then draw the missing half. This was decades before digital photography where it’s easy to do a symmetrical swap although Kim and Adel in this header image show that some people are beautiful regardless. I don’t fare as well and my then BF said one of the sides, when mirrored with itself looked evil. This is not the messaging a 16 year old girl needs to hear.
