265. Smoke and Fire: “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” Use this saying as inspiration to write!
On November 25, 2019, I look up onto the mountain ridge and see something I think I see smoke? I asked my now Mother-in-law, “Is that smoke?” and sure enough, it was smoke. Ugh! Another fire?!
The smoke image here taken at 4:30pm made us nervous for how it was going to be handled. We didn’t know exactly where the fire was but we could tell it was going to be a long night. The header image is what we watched all night. We could see the fire plumes shooting into the sky and rolling down the hill.
The Cave fire started off Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo. 3,126 acres burned, no homes were lost, and no one was injured. The fire was fully contained on Dec. 14, 2019. There’s nothing like a little neighborhood anxiety.
