258. Out of the Box: Imagine finding a box. Write about opening it and what’s inside.
A box found at the bottom of our drive had no name on it so I left it there for several days since it obviously wasn’t mine. I went to the three other houses that share our driveway to ask them if they thought it belonged to them but everyone denied ownership of it. What do I do then: it didn’t belong to me, I didn’t know the sender, the safety of opening the box (domestic terrorism), nor the legality of opening the box. Although the temptation to open the box was great, I had concerns on many levels so I turned it into the police to let them decide what to do with it.
Ps: this is fiction and I had no idea where I was going with the story. I will ponder on how I ended this.
