My brain is a twitchy squirrel with a short attention span and jerky movements. Focusing on my breath, even for ten breaths is extremely hard and I repeatedly have to re-focus on just the breath. Internal images are too strong and distract me from the single point my inner eye is supposed to be centered on. Fine, I will switch to paying attention to the sounds around me so with each breath, I listen to the cars driving on the road below me, the workers somewhere down the valley making noise, and the occasional bird squawk. My internal life is way to noisy.
