227. Trash Day: Write from the perspective of a garbage collector.
It’s a foggy morning in this hilly area. The streets are narrow and winding so when we stop for a pick-up, we block traffic in one direction requiring every vehicle to move around us cautiously. We pull up to this driveway that is the entry for four different houses and three of the houses have their cans near the road, lining the sides of the entry driveway. But the fourth house pays an extra amount each year so they don’t have to haul their trash cans to the curb each Tuesday. Why do they do this? Because their driveway is stupid steep and long, they don’t want to navigate three full trashcans to the bottom and drag them back to the top when they are empty. I get to do that for them. Joy.
