Challenge Day 225

225. Online Friends: Write an ode to someone online you’ve met and become friends with.

This prompt is rather presumptuous that I have met someone online that I have become friends with. I have parasocial relationships where I follow someone on social media and am invested in what they do but they have no idea who I am. I have many of these one-sided relationships thanks to Tiktok but I do not have any friends that I met online. Is it my age that this hasn’t happened, my inherent distrust of anyone I’ve not met in person, or that my generation was repeatedly warned about not meeting strangers in person? My kids regularly develop deep friendships with people they game with and I wonder if it is a generational thing?
