201. Empathy: Write about your feelings of empathy or compassion for another person.
Traveling in third-world countries, you cannot but notice the poverty and poor living conditions of many people. Pre-colonialism, a family could farm food and animals for their subsistence but with capitalism, they must sell things for rent money and food. This model relies on someone buying their things/services but supply and demand do not always match. This leaves many who do not have enough money for shelter, food, and medical care. My heart hurts when people beg and I know it is the economic structure that makes it hard for some people. I get mad a colonialism and capitalism and know I can’t save everyone.
