20. Missed Connections: If you go to Craigslist, there is a “Missed Connections” section where you can find some interesting storylines to inspire your writing.
I was surprised to find that there is a UCSB Missed Connections Instagram page.
This story resonates. Often I’m walking on the street and I see a women dressed unusually, has a cool haircut, or shoes and I think to myself “oooh, I want to be her friend.” I always complement and usually she’s thrilled and surprised by my comment. It feels good to make a stranger happy.
I don’t have friends who likes costumes, makeup, nails, or hair like I do. When I see a random woman who has similar style, I want to know how to be in her posse so we could do these things together.
This UCSB missed connection makes me wish I were Jada and I would be friends with this person!
