158. Party Animal: Have you ever gone to a party you didn’t want to leave? Or do you hate parties? Write about it!
“You should come to a party with me on Saturday. Are you free in the afternoon? It’s a dress up, and the theme is fairy tales!” read a text from a GF. I had no idea it was going to be a real fairy tale.
I didn’t have a lot of time so I took the easy route and bought a Red Riding Hood costume and did my nails in matching colors.
There was valet parking and a gorgeous flower-arch entry way that was the perfect place for pictures. The entire house and grounds were decorated in theme e.g. Jack and Bean Stock, Puss and Boots, Grimms Fairy Tales, Wizard of Oz, and dragons. Everyone was dressed up in theme and I think it was this guest commitment that made me love this party so much. There were several giant blow-up floats for the endless pool overlooking Santa Barbara.
Other cool features were a full spread of food, a bartender, a photo booth complete with props, and an endless enchanted forest room that used mirrors and lights for special effects. I had never been to a party with so much attention to every detail and there were no party-poopers. I had an amazing time and wish every party was so much fun!
