154. Twenty-One: Write about your 21st birthday.
At the beginning of the summer when I turned 21, I drove with my then-fiancé across the country to re-locate him to Carnegie-Mellon University where he would continue his phD in Chemistry. After a long-distance trek I realized I didn’t want to marry this person and so by mid-summer, when my birthday is, I broke off the engagement. Not wanting to celebrate my birthday alone, an ex-boyfriend accompanied me to the Bull and Mouth bar for a Long Island Iced Tea. I think I had two, which was of course a big mistake. I got up the next morning with a hangover and went to work at the library. And thus set the pattern of my college senior year. It was a wild year.
