My Mid 20th Century Nelson Style Expandable Wood Slat Coffee Table is apparently a classic that I just found for sale online for $695. Yikes! This weathered coffee table was ever-present in my childhood home and returned to me after my mom died. I love when it stretches out to a new shape and how I have to balance items when set down. I wonder if others get annoyed that stuff can fall through the open slats but this table has been in my life for so long that it’s second nature to set something down with confidence. My table is terribly beat up, with varnish stripped off, water stains, and scratches, but I love it!
