128. The Promise: Write about a promise you’ve made to someone. Did you keep that promise?
I do not remember making many promises but I know divorce is breaking a promise. You never get married with the expectation that you will get divorced because “we’re in love” and “nothing will ever change how much we love each other” so you make a promise at the wedding to stay together in sickness and health, in richer and poorer, for better or for worse. I genuinely had every expectation and belief that I would remain married. There are so many issues other than health and wealth that the vows do not cover. I do have some shame and sadness that our marriage vows broke since I did not intend to ever break them but I know it was the right thing to do.
