124. Fireworks: Do they inspire you or do you not like the noise and commotion? Write about it.
I do like fireworks but understand that they are scary to animals and bad for the environment. Growing up, Independence Day was the only time I got to see fireworks and they were usually far away with no noise and minimal show so when I was in Washington DC for the 1987 fireworks, I had no idea they could be so grand. I was visiting an ex-BF and we went to the National Mall to lay on the grass and watch the lights but I was not expecting how loud they were nor the debris that fell on us. I was shocked at how much ash and large scraps fell on us. We took the very crowded metro home and found we were filthy from soot. This was a most memorable experience.
