119. The Ex: Write a poem to someone who is estranged from you.
When I was young, I dated as if it were a sport so I have scores of exes. There are levels of exes since not all relationships are equal. Some guys I went on a few dates with and regardless of who broke it off, this type is easiest to get over. Mid-range “relationships” are a few months to a year long and those can sting when they end. I have exes that I used to live with, that I was engaged to, and that I was married to. These sticky, messy relationships are harder to extricate myself from both physically and emotionally. I have exes who were prettier than me, funnier than me (not that I’m terribly funny), smarter than me, and more political than me. All contributed to who I am today.
