100. Normal: What does normal mean to you? Is it good or bad to be normal?
Normal is a subjective term that is informed by one’s family, religion, and culture. Patriarchy, capitalism, racism, and compulsive heterosexuality are limiting factors to further shape what “normal” looks like. Whereas evolutionarily, it was prudent to suspicious of those who did not look or act like you since maybe they were dangerous, we no longer need to block or expel based on “otherness.” Now perhaps we should look to people who are actually dangerous i.e. those who use guns rather than looking at someone’s skin color or nationality. With more people comes diversity so instead of a black and while view of what’s normal, there should be an endless range of grays.
