Each year during UCSB’s “Staff Appreciation Week” there is a Bike to Work day. The event held in conjunction with CycleMAYnia, a program of Traffic Solutions.
At the entrance to UCSB, a gathering of a couple dozen bikers hung around for a raffle drawing for bookstore certificates, backpack, new bike tube. Coffee, zuc bread and bananas were also available. AS Bike Shop staff Mike looked at my bike to see if the tires were aligned correctly.
It was a lovely ride in. So many bugs! One must keep the mouth closed while riding through the slough.
